The goal of the Center for English Academic Writing at the Ukrainian Catholic University is to help students improve their writing and research skills.

We offer in-person assistance with the preparation of term papers, scholarly articles, application letters, and other texts in English. Our team of trained tutors is prepared to work with you no matter where you find yourself in the writing process. We help generate ideas, discuss ways to make revisions of drafts, and assist with writing for a particular audience. While our tutors do not proofread papers, we help students to understand grammatical concepts and syntax so that they can correct their own mistakes.

Besides our regular work, we also offer seminars and workshops for students to help them perfect their writing skills and become confident writers. We also facilitate seminars and conferences dedicated to strategies of teaching writing to assist our teachers in their professional growth.

Once you have filled out the form, you will be matched with an instructor who will email you about the meeting. You may schedule an appointment online (via Zoom, Skype, or Google Meet.)

Some things to keep in mind while planning your Writing Center appointment:

• Once you have filled out the form, check your email regularly for a response from the Writing Center Instructor.
• Don’t forget to have the description of your assignment available so that the writing instructor knows the expectations for your writing.
• Do not wait till the last minutebefore your paper is due to schedule a Writing Center appointment. Plan an appointment ahead of time as it can take a day or two to pair up with an instructor.
• Writing Instructors can help you at any stage of your work, even with planning and brainstorming ideas for your work.
• The Writing Center is for consulting you about your work, not editing your entire work.
